Some exciting news!!

Hey folks!

I have some BIG news to share today! Its been so hard to keep this to myself all along because its SO AWESOME!

I’m excited to share that today I’m joining Verve as an Illustrator and DT member!!!

Can I scream now? Yes? Ok! EEEEEKKKKK!!!! 🙂

You all probably know my illustrating journey if you have followed my blog for a while. Verve is one of my favorite companies when it comes to stamps and dies and my illustrating style is in line with theirs! I’m so glad Julee thought the same and gave me this chance! So honored to be a Verve Diva and to know that some very talented ladies will create with my designs!

Watch out for my designs with Verve in the coming months!

So today I am joining the Verve divas in the May Inspirations Hop!

The hop starts at Julee’s blog and you should have come here from Susan’s blog!

The theme today is Font Focus. Here is the inspiration image:

I pulled out my favorite set from Verve – On Occasion! I love the frame it comes with! It has some great font sentiments that go inside the frame so it was perfect to bring the focus to the sentiments. And the inspiration made me think of WATERCOLORS!

Here is my card:

VerveMayInspiration

And here is a quick little photo tutorial on how I made it…

Step 1: Draw light lines with pencil to mark off the sections

Step1

Step 2: Stamp the long border from the set on the lines with Versamark. Heat emboss with Ranger black embossing powder. Don’t worry about them all making a jumble in the middle. That’ll get covered up with the frame. You can erase the pencil lines after the embossing cools down.

Step2

Step 3: Color with your favorite watercolors in each section! I used Inktense pencils.

Step3

Then add the frame diecut with the matching die and stamp the sentiment! And go crazy with home-made enamel dots! (I mentioned that I’m making them in this week’s Iron Craft! Watch out for some photos of that this week!)

Hope you enjoyed the card and the photo tutorial!

Oh did I mention that there is a lil ol’ prize for y’all? 🙂 There is a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the info and deadlines, and a little bit about moi!

Thanks Maureen!! Such an honor to create with you all Divas!

The enamel dots are SO easy to make with Perler beads! I have a flood of them in my house now because I got the large bead container with like 10 thousand beads!
