Iron Craft Challenge Week

EDITED on 6/6: I will be picking 3 favorite winners for the challenge and giving each one a $20 gift certificate to JustGive.org so they can spread some love and niceness! See this post explaining why this prize!

Hey Folks!

Here looking for this week’s Iron Craft episode? This is our second break week for Iron Craft 🙂

Every 5 episodes of Iron Craft we’ll take a break week to re-orient ourselves, plan the next episodes and do something different! BUT that doesn’t mean it will be all dull and gloomy here! No Sir! Instead we’ll spend the week on challenges inspired by YOU!

Yeah! Remember all the questions my guests asked you? And all the fabulous answers you gave? And the fun discussions we had? Yup, they are all coming right back at you as inspirations for challenges!!!

Here is what you need to know:

  1. For each of the past 5 episodes of Iron Craft I have put together an inspiration collage based on your answers to that week’s question. I have explained the collages a bit as well!
  2. You can pick one or more of the inspiration collages to make your crafty item (card, tag, scrapbook page, anything!) for this challenge but you must pick at least 1 collage for inspiration.
  3. Upload your creation to the web (blog, Flickr, Splitcoast gallery, anywhere else) and make sure to mention which inspiration collages you chose in your blog post.
  4. Link up your creation in the linky below this post!
  5. You have until the next break week to add in your creations. Thats till July 14, 11.59 PM PST

So now that the rules are out of the way, lets see the inspirations, shall we?

Inspiration 1: Sources of inspiration from Mayuri

In Episode 6 of this season, Mayuri (Flubidoo) asked you what your sources of inspiration were. Many of you said challenges! So my inspiration collage has a sketch (the upcoming CAS(E) This Sketch actually! So you are getting a head start this week!!) and a color inspiration! Among the top answers were also inspiration from home decor and inspiration from fashion. Both are in the inspiration collage!

Inspiration 2: Punny Sentiments from Wendy

In Episode 7, Wendy Ramlakhan asked you about your favorite punny sentiments. You all are a creative, naughty lot! There were hardly any repeat sentiments so I couldn’t pick any top favorites. ALL of the sentiments were hilarious and fun to read! For this inspiration, I have 3 cards from 3 past Iron Crafters for you with punny sentiments! If you go with this inspiration, I suggest adding a punny sentiment to your card 😉

Inspiration 3: Lawn Fawn Critters from Yainea

Yainea overloaded us with cuteness with her question in Episode 8! She asked what your favorite Lawn Fawn critter set was. And ofcourse all LF critters made an appearance in your responses! So the inspiration collage is of 3 cards from my Fab Inspirations Pinterest Board that I keep to regularly inspire myself when my mojo is down. The cards feature some really cute Lawn Fawn critters!!

If you use this inspiration, you don’t have to use a LF critter (though if you do, that’d be awesome!) but feel free to use any critter stamp you have!

Inspiration 4: Crafting Obstacles from Catherine

In Episode 9, Catherine gave us a rare opportunity to tell her what crafting obstacles we face besides time and money. Its such a great opportunity to tell an amazing craft teacher what you’d like to learn! You all did just that and the topmost answer by far was organizing our crafty mess! The second answer was getting inspiration.

The collage, and this challenge, I hope answers both! I put together some great craft organization photos for the collage and I hope they will also inspire your creativity with their color and patterns!

Inspiration 5: Favorite Books from Cristina

Cristina asked us to list our favorite books in Episode 10. What a fitting question from the author of 3 books!

Again here there were so many good answers and my reading list grew tremendously! For the collage, I chose some fun inspiration photos that contain books and one of them is my favorite reading quote!

So hope that was plenty of inspiration to get you crafting this week! I would LOVE to see your crafty creations so please do link them up! There may just be a few prizes for grabs ;)

And this is a great time to catch up on the past episodes of Iron Craft (even Season 1) if you haven’t been following it regularly!

I’ll see you with a regular episode next week!

So cool! I wanted to tell you I was on the shuttle bus to the hotel this weekend and met Shay of Winnie and Walter (just the two of us on that shuttle) and when she mentioned that stamp company I mentioned you! So fun! What a lovely woman! I picked up some stamps and they also gave us a set in our card kit!

Wow what a fun story! I remember you commented before about finding a company with your name in it 🙂 Shay and Julie are both awesome! Glad you liked their stamps and got to meet Shay!!
