Butterscotch, Raspberry Lemon Cake with Chocolate drippings

Hey everyone!

Looked up the title and wondering if I have turned into a food blogger? Um nope… I am well aware of where my talents lie and they ain’t in the baking world 😉

BUT that doesn’t mean I don’t like cake. Especially a 3-tiered cake with butterscotch, raspberry and lemon flavors and chocolate drippings and lovely frosting piping!!! Occasion you say? Who needs an occasion to each such a cake??? I say “Bring on the cake!!”

So… that’s what I have for you today. A very special card that just jumped in my head when I first saw the crooky cake dies in the current Stamp of Approval box! Here it is…

Wondering about the cake? I cut the 3 layers from the dies in the SOA box – actually cut each layer 6 times to stick together and thicken it up. Then on the topmost layer of each stack I sponged distress inks – antique linen for butterscotch, picked raspberry for raspberry and wild honey for lemon. The piping is also diecut from the die in the same die set and the candle is cut 6 times and thickened up similarly. I colored it with copics.

Now the chocolate dripping you ask? YES!!! That was from my Chocolate set with Verve! I LOVE it when different products I have from various companies work so well together! Its fun to mix and match and put your craft supplies to their best use, isn’t it?

The drippings are stamped with Versamark on each layer then heat embossed with Early Espresso embossing powder from Stampin’ Up!

I also added a bit of shine to the cake with Wink of Stella because – well everyone likes a shiny cake 🙂 Finally mounted that on patterned paper from Papertrey Ink. The patterned paper and the scallop panel behind it are both cut from dies in the same SOA collection – see I told you its VERY versatile! And the sentiment is from – you guessed it – the SOA collection!!

So I’ll leave you today with a close-up of the crooky cake to see the chocolate dripping and the sparkles. Feel like having some chocolate cake yet?

Thanks for stopping by and if you still want the SOA box, you MIGHT just get one if you hurry over to the website and order one right now! Run, don’t walk!
