Watercoloring!

Hey all!

I’ve been bitten by the watercolor bug thats been going around. Got a chance to play with my watercolors last week and made a couple of pretties to send out to crafty friends! Dropping by today to share them 🙂

Here goes with the first one…

WatercolorHello1

I started with cutting out a tag to use as mask from the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 1 die. With the mask in place I watercolored the panel. with brown. When it was dry I removed the mask and stamped on the tag area with Verve Notebook stamp. Then rubbed a generous amount of gesso on the tag with my finger and stamped on it with Verve Text Objects (retired set) when dry. Some more gesso on top.

Then came the Hello sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold and The Happy set. I added the tails to the Hello with a black sharpie. The black dots are from Winnie & Walter Scenery: Big Bang Confetti.

This one uses the Verve Framed Florals set for the floral image (bluebells?) which I colored and diecut with the matching die.

Great way to add a tag to a card without adding bulk don’t you agree? I wanted this flat to make it easy to mail out!

Here is my other one…

WatercolorHello2

For the background, I watercolored a panel again. When dry I stamped on it with the Give Thanks stamp set I illustrated for There She Goes. It was fun to bring out a TSG stamp set to remember old times. They are closed now.

The sentiment is from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold and The Happy set. Added the tails here with a sharpie again.

Are you waiting to hear about those gorgeous flowers? They are my newest toy! The Memory Box Blushing Flower die! Aren’t they beautiful?!! I added just a little bit of watercolor to them and adhered them to the card. Trimmed off the excess and left it at that for a lovely soft look!

It was SO RELAXING to craft just for fun. No challenges, no deadlines, nothing. Just crafting for no purpose other than crafting. You should try it sometime… its fun! I got to focus a lot on my technique and on really making quality cards. It till me much longer to finish these but I enjoyed every minute!

Thats all for today. Thanks so much for visiting! See you here soon for more crafting-for-fun posts! 🙂
