Papercrafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Swan Song bloghop

Hey everyone!

I’m joining today in the PC&S Magazine Swan Song bloghop to celebrate the magazine and wish the PC&S family a fond farewell. We all have so many beautiful memories of the magazine that this is a sad moment indeed. Personally for me a very sad one 😦

First a quick hop check. You should have come here from Jocelyn’s blog. You can find the full hop list linked below.

I’m going to take a few minutes to talk about my experience with the magazine. After having other craft achievements under my belt (DTs, some stamp illustrating), I wanted to get published. I didn’t know then that you got compensated for it. I just wanted to be published for the prestige!

First few tries – no luck. Then for the upcoming Simple Scrapbooks issue I submitted one of my pocket scrapbooking layouts and IT GOT ACCEPTED!!! Getting the email from Susan is the best thrill ever! After that I had another card published in the November issue this year. I blogged about that here.

The magazine always inspired me with great new ideas. It challenged my creativity and encouraged me to think outside the box. Overall, I think it was a big motivation for the crafting community. Sad to see them close their doors!

For my post today I am showing a card I created with Yainea for the Creative Remix challenge in the Card Creations 13 call of PC&S. Our cards weren’t selected but we didn’t blog about them before because they didn’t fit any other occasion. For this post they really fell in place I feel because this is one of the things I loved about the magazine – the chance to connect with crafters all over the world.

Here is my card…

And here is a composite photo of mine and Yainea’s cards. We used the same 2 stamp sets, Avery Elle Storybook and Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Backdrops. Yainea used the LF set as the foreground and the AE set as the background. I used them the other way round.

Thats my wish to the PC&S family – make a wish because wishes do come true! Especially when you made so many crafters’ wishes come true!

Next on the hop list is Hero Arts! Enjoy the hop and don’t forget to leave sweet comment notes for the PC&S family as you hop!

Your cards are so cute and lovely.
All these magazines have provided a lot of inspiration to me and it is sad that they are stopping publication. I know that this hobby of ours will never go away and we all as crafters should do our best in supporting this craft.
