Viva La Verve Week 4

Hey everyone!

I’m up on the Viva La Verve blog today with a recap of Stacey’s Week 4 sketch along with a few cards which caught my eye this week. Sorry for the super late post! You can say I’m suffering from a coffee hangover today 🙂

Here is my (yet another coffee) card!

I started with doing a background panel in the same layout as the sketch. Then added the coffee image from Verve Coffee set embossed in gold and colored in white. I was going for a elegant porcelain cup – I love those even though they are used more for tea I know! 🙂

I love how the coffee word at the bottom turned out! Cut it out of fun foam using the Verve Coffee die then gave it a good distressing with distress inks and some watercoloring to spread the distressing on the panel. Added some glitter with Wink of Stella. finished the card with some random watercolored spots and wooden stars!

Now the VLV sketch was one inspiration for this card.

My other inspiration was Debby’s card from the current CASE Study Challenge! Oh I was rushing so much to try and play in this. I absolutely wanted to play at least once with Debby as the muse! And the fact that this is possibly the last CASE Study challenge meant I HAD to play!!! I kept my card very CAS and put in a touch of gold inspired by Debby’s card!

So glad I got this done! Needless to say, this is getting linked up to the CASE Study challenge!

Thanks for dropping by!

First, thank you for a most amazing hop yesterday, Chaitali! I was late to the game, but managed to squeak in a new card (I’d made two for my Inkspirational Challenges DT post, but they didn’t ‘fall’ into the required time frame. Following the requirements is important!). Your ‘coffee hangover’ – absolutely understandable! I’m swooning over your card…love the embossing, the coffee die, the patterned panel…Gorgeous!
