Iron Craft Season 2 Episode 2

Hello folks!

Who is ready for another episode of Iron Craft? 🙂 Comeon grab your favorite drink and join me for the second episode!!

TheInterview

Today I have Amy Wanford as my guest! Don’t know her? No problem! Thats what the interview is for 😉 Know her already and came here from her blog? Welcome! Either way, grab a seat because the show is about to begin!

TheIngredients

Amy (from now on we call her Aimes!) and I crafted with the same ingredients for Iron Craft. We used this gorgeous set she illustrated for Clearly Besotted Stamps! Its called Post It: Love.

The set comes with a little postage stamp die! So we had the stamp set AND the die as our ingredients!

TheCreations

Here is what we came up with! My card to the left and Amy’s to the right.

AmyWanfordAndMe

Aimes captured her CAS easy flowing style in her card! And the gold on it is so delicious! For mine, I tried to capture some Aimes-style too. The one word I associate with her cards is balanced. So thats what I wanted my card to be. Very balanced! Amy gave it the green light so woohoo! 🙂

TheGiveaway

Thanks to Stephanie, owner of Clearly Besotted Stamps for sponsoring the giveaway today!

One lucky winner will get a copy of the same stamp set – Post It: Love – that Amy and I played with today! How do you win it? Just leave a comment answering Amy’s question from the video! Here is the question for you again…

What was/is your most positive crafting memory?

You have until 11:59 pm EST on March 30 to put in your answer in the comments!

Thats all for today folks! Aimes and I look forward to reading your comments. Hope to see you here next week for the next episode of Iron Craft! ❤

I have to say that my most positive crafting experience is always the one I am working on at the moment. Being in my studio is just somehow satisfying and happy.

Chaitali, another wonderful video. Would love to win the Love stamp set w/die. It was a pleasure to meet you Aimes and to learn about your journey. While I have quite a few favorite positive crafting memories I would have to say, the reaction I got when I made my very first card for my sisters birthday, it really fired me up to make many more. I also want to say:

    1) I would love to receive one of your stashed away cards Aimes
    2) I would love to hear you play one of your instruments Aimes, really.

Thanks for the chance to win

Thank you Chaitali, for this wonderful interview with Amy. I am loving this series. We get to know a lot about designers, and their crafting journey.
My most positive crafting memory, which is very recent one(6 months back), when I used Distress paints for the first time and I realized that we can create wonders with them.

    Chaitali,
Great interview! It is always interesting to hear another crafter’s experience and Aimes was delightful. I think for me the whole process of crafting is what fills me with the most satisfaction. Not one particular card or project. That being said I do have one favorite scrapbook layout that always brings me great joy every time I look at it.

Great cards, love seeing the different makes from the same stash and the interviews are fun! My most positive memory is my daughter’s reaction when she opened her birthday card. She loved it so much, all the present opening was halted as she showed off her card and I got a hug 🙂

Love how you are so passionate about your craft Chaitali, it’s infectious and I love to see all the inspiration here:-)
My most positive crafting memory was when I realized that I was blessed with some creativity to make handmade cards which I could share with a lot of my church ministries, like handing them to nursing homes to folks who had no access to purchasing a card to send to family or friends:-)

I was given the most positive charge when a group of friends all revealed that they kept my cards. Each had a small gallery of the cards I had sent them over a period of years. My sister in law has a shrine of my cards displayed on a shelf in her library!

I love making cards for my kids and my reward and inspiration comes from watching their faces as they open the card for the first time. It’s one of those mom moments when you capture it in your heart and want to remember it and cherish forever.

You will cherish those moments forever Kristen! And hope you will have lots and lots of them! You must share the cards you make for them sometime. I’d love to see more cards for kids to get inspired!

Last year was full of changes in my family, after 10 years of living with, and caring for my elderly mom, she had to enter a nursing home. It was a difficult time for all of us, and it decided to create something for each of us to have in our space to know that wherever we are, we are always together in our hearts. I bought paper mâché letters to spell out the word HOPE for each of us. Then I decopauged each one in the persons favorite colors and patterns. Finally I gave each of us the completed word with each of us present and explained that we will always have each other and hope. There were tears, but also a sense of togetherness. Many days when I miss. Mom, I look at my HOPE and know that she is looking at hers in her room. Even though we might not be in the same space, we are always together and there for one another.

This is such a brilliant idea for a blog!! I have been following ‘Aimes’ on her blog for a while now and just saw her post about this interview, so popped on over. Its so nice to see these ‘celebrity’ designers and hear about themselves. This was a great interview and also watched the interview with Julie. Your right, she does have the best laugh in the world!! I had my most positive moment just yesterday. I craft at night in the loungeroom and leave my cards on the dining table. My two kids don’t take too much notice of them but yesterday morning my daughter came running in with the cards telling me they are ‘so cool’ and can I please make some for her??!! Awesome!

Thank you for this wonderfully fun episode of Iron Craft! Oh yes Aimes, we want to hear your music! And of course I would love one of your cards, but I am thinking your students would love them also!!! It was such a treat getting to know you a bit, Aimes and I am going over to subscribe to your blog for more of your crafty fun! Thanks Chiatali for this introduction. I have so many wonderful crafting memories, but my favorite was the time spent crafting with my sister as she battled cancer. I treasure every card she made for me.

        Hi Chaitali,

I went to Scrapfest a year or so ago, primarily to meet up with some of the Hero Arts Flickr group! It was a wonderful weekend – we all had such fun stopping at the vendor booths and “making and taking”, but it was really all about meeting each other face to face and cement our online friendships in real life – Amazing time 🙂

OH wow! My sweet blog buddy, Aimes, or who I call “Duchess” (because she’s stamping royalty), is even more adorable on video! What a fabulous interview 🙂 My most positive stamping memories are: attending the original PTI Stampafaire and meeting the design team and Nichole with another blog buddy, Lynn; meeting Julee of Verve stamps last year, and hearing how much my cards have meant to the recipients. It’s a great and rewarding hobby 🙂

Chaitali, your video are so much fun, not only because Julie and Aimes are amazing guests, but because YOU are a stellar, dynamic hostess! Your sparkly personality, infectious enthusiasm, and oh-so-interesting questions are what make these sessions so compelling! You’re one talented interviewer! My favourite crafting moments are actually three: the first two are the Advent calendars I made for my niece! This Christmas, I’m aiming to do another (re-using? Nope! This Aunty wants to create!) for her and one for my nephew! The third: the mini album I made for my sister-in-law, using ballet paper (my SIL attended The Royal Ballet school in England). I had no clue what I was getting myself into (I did this after crafting for only a couple months), but the results were worth it when I saw her reaction. She loved it!! Knowing what I know now, and with plenty more products, I should make her another one, too! Thanks for the wonderful video and card, Chaitali!

Loved both your cards, and as a result of this great video have started reorganizing my crafting space with a focus on what I enjoy creating the most! My favorite crafting experience was receiving back a card I had sent a friend. She made a minor change to the card, so it was just right for me, and a great way to see how my skills had changed and improved. So, I had to visit Amy’s blog (new to me) and see for myself how her cards have changed. And am sure Iron Craft is going to help improve my card making skills, creativity & organization! Thanks to you both for your enthusiasm & inspiration.
Just how many stamp sets are TOO many??? I feel I need to simplify & focus on my real favorites as I reorganize. Again, a big Thanks! This interview got me thinking a lot! Pat

Hi Chaitali, great interview with Amy. Totally love your Iron Craft show! I would say that Amy’s happiest crafting memory of making it to the final Gallery Idol would constitute a sublime moment for me as well.
My greatest source of happiness is to see the face in the recipient of one of my cards. Likewise, since my hubby is my best partner in crime and color adviser, it gives me great joy when he wants to use one of my cards as an e-greeting.
    Cheers and happy crafting!

I’m late – but I want to send these two very special paper crafting memories. 1) My daughter-in-law told me that my little granddaughter carried a card I made her around the house for days! How sweet an image is that? 2) I hosted a group of Red Hat Society ladies in my “studio” and taught them all how to do Iris folding. Their projects were awesome and I felt really good about introducing them to a fun paper craft. Warms my heart to think of it…

Thanks for another great interview. I’m going to subscribe to Amy’s blog and hope to hear her music!
