Heya people! I apologize for making you wait this week but Iron Craft is here and you are going to love this one!! Time to meet my guest…
When I squeal, you squeal too, OK? Eeeeekkkkk!! Its Julie Ebersole!
Today I get to introduce you to one of my teachers 🙂 You must come out from under your rock and check out some of Julie’s tutorials if you need a longer introduction to Julie! Like me, you may have been introduced to her work through Online Card Classes.
What can I say… she is an amazing teacher, she always has a new technique up her sleeve and she stays pretty close to home in WA!
She has some awesome Hello Monday videos on her channel and her blog has some of my best inspirations! Ofcourse very likely you may have come here from her blog. In that case WELCOME!!!
Wanna see what we played with this week?
Julie and I are both using the Hero Arts Stamp Your Story Brush Strokes set.
Its just a fun set to let your hair down and go crazy! Put some music in your craft room, get your stamping gear and have F-U-N kind of set… KWIM? Here is what we made with it…
Here are our creations, mine on the left and Julie’s on the right.
I started with coloring the background with Copics to form a nice graduated background. I then stamped my brush strokes with Versamark and and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then took a Copic (C5) and added the shading on the H formed with the brush strokes. The sentiment is from PTI.
Since this was a challenge with Julie and since I’ve seen so many of her videos, taken her classes… I had the little voice-of-Julie in my head all the time telling me to “keep it clean”, “use your tools properly” and “stamp straight”!
Isn’t Julie’s card such an bold, and fun card? I saw her card before I made mine so it definitely was my inspiration! You must go check out her blog for more details on it but not before you enter the giveaway!!
Hero Arts is sponsoring today’s giveaway with a Stamp Your Story Brush Strokes set!!! Thankyou Hero Arts ❤
Since this set is all about having fun and relaxing, I have a fun and useful question for you today!
To win, just leave a comment here by 23:59 EST on July 14 telling us what your favorite method of relaxing and de-stressing is! I’ll pick a random winner from the entries for the stamp set!
Thanks so much for stopping by! Looking forward to reading your comments on how you have fun and de-stress yourself!
Of course we know Julie and her giggles! She’s obviously a great teacher looking at your work! TFS

I think my favorite would be reading. Sometimes crafting requires too many decisions so falling into a good book is fun!

Totally agree with this! But sometimes finding a good book is too many decisions too so then I switch to crafting! 🙂

You both made great free-form cards with that set!! Relaxing for me means sitting on the porch with a glass of wine, cat on my lap, enjoying the view and/or reading a good novel.

I love these kinds of challenges!! It is always amazing what people come up with using the same materials.
To de-stress, I either hole myself up in my craft room with some tunes and scrapbook or create cards OR I sit down with a good book and get lost in a different world.

My craft room is all windows on one long side, so I destress by looking out a window onto my backyard. I love watching the squirrels scamper around the ground searching for their winter’s hidden treasures (acorns!). Then there are the cardinals, mockingbirds and blue jays who love to sit on my fence and sing or just catch a few zzzs!

My favorite way to relax is to read in bed, just before I turn in for the evening. It’s always late, so no worries of the doorbell, or even the telephone ringing. Just me, a good book, and maybe a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows.
