Iron Craft #6

Welcome to another episode of Iron Craft! Is it summer in your part of the world yet? Its slowly getting warmer here and we are getting more sun too! My Project Life pages are filling up with more flowery, sunny photos 🙂 Keep watching for some posts about PL soon…

Back to Iron Craft! I have another super talented guest today! Read on for the scoop…

MasterCrafter

DebbyHughesGive a big round of applause to Debby Hughes!! She has a flair for making absolutely stunning cards. It amazes me how she keeps pulling out trick after trick from her hat (I’m sure she has a magic one!) for every card. I have learnt more techniques from her blog than I can count!

If you have ever wandered around blogosphere, you must have seen Debby’s work because she has been and still is on the DT os many challenges and companies. Some of my fav ones are CASE Study and Lil Inker Designs. And ofcourse the way I first found her blog – TSG Stamps!

Each of my Iron Craft guests is special to me because I have learnt something from them and admire their style. From Debby I learnt that CAS need not be white cardstock. It can be all color too! But the card needs to be well constructed with “something different” in each card!

On to the challenge now…

Ingredients

Debby and I are both using There She Goes stamps Oh Snap set. A story about this set — I ordered another stamp set from TSG a while ago and mistakenly got this one. I was a bit annoyed initially because I wanted to start creating with the other set. Emailed TSG owner Jessica about this. Not only did TSG ship me the set I had ordered but Jessica also asked me to keep this one. Thats customer service!! Thanks Jessica!

Just the set isn’t enough for a true challenge so Debby and I picked this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch.

Read on to see what we created…

Here are our cards. Mine on the left and Debby’s on the right…

I tried my hand at the Bokeh effect on my card. Used my rainbow inkpad made with Ranger Inkssentials Cut-N-Dry Stamp Pad Foam and my fingers to make it! Interesting to see both of us using the same bright color scheme. I guess a little bit of sunshine and the coming of summer affects us both 🙂

Hop over and see what Debby has done for her card. Don’t you want to know how she got the cool water color effect? Don’t forget to leave a comment before you go! And keep dropping by for more Iron Craft weekly!

I love the bokeh! It is something I’ve been having a go at recently and it is much harder than it looks to get the effect – you did a fabulous job and it is a great setting for you camera film. Thanks for inviting me on this challenge Chaitali – great fun 🙂

Wonderful card, Chaitali! Love the bokeh effect. It’s so neat how you pulled the colours from your image and it really looks like bokeh from a sky or landscape background in behind. Plus that has to be the cutest stamp set ever. :o)
