Its a new year! And I am nearing my blogoversary! That means its time to getI have come a long way from my first set of 3 cards. I have learnt some amazing techniques like Quilling, Pergamano, Copic Coloring, CAS cards and so many more. I have made cards ranging from simple painted ones to complex interactive ones. I have grown my collection of craft tools and supplies from everything that could fit into a cloth grocery bag all the way to a whole craft studio. These include all tools ranging from scissors and glue to Cuttlebug to my Silhouette Cameo. My stamp collection has also grown from one simple stamp picked up at Michaels dollar bin to a whole shelf of stamps from Papertrey Ink, Taylored Expressions, Flourishes, Technique Tuesday, TSG and so many more…
I remember how delighted I was to first find and join Splitcoaststampers. I have spent lots of fun hours browsing the site. Here I learnt other useful skills like taking good photos of my cards and blogging. I made some great friends and got to know some very talented crafters from whom I draw inspiration everyday. Participating in design teams and challenges helped me exercise and grow my creativity as well.
All in all, I’m proud of how far I have come in this “hobby” of mine that has become more serious than just a casual pastime of papers and scissors.
But I am haven’t done everything I wanted to with this hobby. So this year I’m going to focus on some goals. I felt putting them down here on my blog will help me remain committed to them. Here they are:
- Scrapbook all our past photos
- Do Project Life in 2013
- Try to get published in some magazine(s)
- Make my own stamp set
I want to talk at length on each of these goals. Especially the first 2.
Scrapbooking and Project Life 2013
We have a lot of digital photos all locked up in online albums. I want to make them into beautiful memory books that we can look through anytime and enjoy. This year I’ll focus on our albums from after our marriage i.e. from November 2010 onwards.
I also want to do Project Life this year to keep track of all our events and memories every week. For both of these projects, I had a hard time deciding whether to go digital or scrapbook these on paper. I decided to go digital so I could learn a new skill and do these at a good pace without getting overwhelmed. So watch out for periodic posts on Digital Scrapbooking/Project Life on my blog.
I have however decided not to share my actual spreads on my blog since these are personal memories that I would like to share just with my family.
Getting published in magazine(s)
Make my own stamp set
Awesome goals. I know you can achieve them! I would like to submit for publication myself. I haven’t looked into it, but maybe this year. I can’t wait to see what you do this year!
