Infact I like my Cameo so much that I have given up buying any traditional dies. I do have my Cuttlebug still but I don’t even use it for embossing now. I have picked up quite a few techniques for duplicating the delicate finished look that Nestabilities give and I wanted to share some of those with you today.
But first the card:
Supplies:
For the summer theme, I used all summery bright colors and summer flowers for the image. Doesn’t it look all golden and summery? πΒ Here is more info on how I made the various parts of the card.
First up, I love cards that have a lovely embossed white frame. Like Beate’s card here (and SO many of her other cards!) Since the Cameo can’t emboss, I first made the shape of my choice in the Silhouette Studio then used the offset feature to make an internal offset. Here is a screenshot of how it looks in Silhouette Studio. Click on it to view a larger image.
Here are the cutout frames. When laid one on top of another, they look very much like embossed nestabilities!
Before sticking the two together, I did the ghosting technique on the inner panel and stamped it with a flowers image.
The black cutout behind the panel is this file from the Silhouette Store. I sponged the background panel with some spiced marmalade ink before stamping on it with PTI Text Style stamps. Layered it with black cardstock as well.
I am submitting this card for:
The Cameo Spotlight challenge #1 – Summer
Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoyed the card!

Such a lovely card! I love it. I am going to need a Cameo at this rate. I see the lovely things you make with it and want it. I am not that great on the computer so that is what is holding me back. Your ghosting technique is great and the colors and the use of the distress ink around the focal image is great.
