Stamping with bleach

I ordered lots of goodies during PTI’s promotion on Stamp-a-faire day and got some happy mail this week! Couldn’t wait to play with my new sets 🙂

Nichole has a fun technique this week for Make It Monday — stamping with bleach! I hadn’t heard of this before and couldn’t wait to try it. Here is the card I made:

Supplies:

Cardstock: Bazzil brown for background, PTI Simply Chartreuse for bleaching, gridpaper for sentiment
Stamp: PTI Sweet Life
Inks: Colorbox chalk green, lime and burnt sienna, Memento Tuxedo black for sentiment
Tools: Cuttlebug, PTI Sweet Life dies
Accessories: Prima roses, stickers from TE July KI kit

The paper is PTI Simply Chartreuse bleached with the background stamp from PTI Sweet Life set. My bleach was too liquidy and it ran down the paper hence the imperfect shape. But it added a cool effect overall 🙂

I stamped the roses from PTI Sweet Life set over the bleached area with Burnt Sienna chalk ink. The leaves are from the same set with green chalk ink. I also caved in and brought PTI dies — my first die set from PTI — to go with this set. And I must say I’m terribly impressed with them! I loved how cleanly they cut the cardstock! I still like my Cameo better but I think I’ll have some more PTI dies in my collection soon 🙂

The sentiment is from the same stamp set which I stamped on a grid paper and stapled on the card. Those red and green lines you see are from stickers that came with my TE July KI kit. I didn’t know what to do with them till now. But they went beautifully with this card!

I’m submitting this for Make It Monday #76 — Stamping with bleach.

Hope you enjoyed the card! Thanks for stopping by 🙂
