The “Remember when” book

We have a monthly challenge in our blogging group Paper Pajama Party. And this month Nancy challenged us to make a mini album.

I am so not the scrapbooking of person and have a hard enough time filling up BIG pages. So when I sat down to do this challenge on Sunday, my reaction was what’s the point??!! WHAT do you put in such a teeny-tiny album?
I started looking through old photos and remembering the past few years. Then it occurred to me to make something like a memory flashbook. The “Remember when…” book! The idea is to have just one quick sentence on each page that will help you remember a specific time. Then possibly also have some small embellishments to accompany the sentence. After all, photos, audio, video, blogs… all those can’t really capture precious moments as well as our mind can, right?
So here is my “Remember when…” book! It has all the beautiful moments I spent with my husband ever since we met 5 years ago! Its a little (a lot!) out of sequence because I stopped at each page spread to think of what I wanted to add and added things as I went along.
I followed the tutorial for a meander book on SCS. The album is made from a single 12 X 12 sheet of DCWV Linen Closet paper. I chose to glue all the pages together instead of making pockets. There are lots of different stamps and embellishments used in the whole book. I’ll point them out in photos as I go.
This is the outer cover for the book. The image is from Gina K’s Autumn Splendor stamp set. I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with my Copics. The little panel on the left is also from the same set.
These are the first 2 pages. I used washi tape of the same colors as the oranges. The flower on the right is from Gina K Pressed Flowers stamp set. I colored the stamp with my Tombow pens before misting it slightly and stamping with it.
More washi tape for the next 2 pages and more stamps from the Pressed Flowers set.
Even more washi tape! Can you tell I have a collection of those now? These stamps are from Taylored Expressions In The Park set.
Stamps from My Mind’s Eye Adventures Miss Caroline Collection. And some scraps of paper torn to look like washi tape 🙂

Stamps from PTI All Booked Up and washi tape from Tim Holtz. I got this washi tape in a swap. The buttons are from my latest TE Key Ingredients kit.
Stamps from Ginak K Hello Sunshine kit and sticker + black pearls from my stash.
No stamps here! More washi tape (same as first few pages) and stickers from my stash.

Handmade paper from India and rhinestone swirls from my stash for the final page.

Hope you enjoyed it! Thankyou Nancy for being such an enabler. I loved making this book so much!
I am also entering this for Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients challenge for this month since its a delightful package for all our beautiful memories.

Love it! I love that you made such a special keepsake for the two of you. I enjoyed reading each page and learning more about you! I see you studied in NYC! Love that you decorated all the pages, and you hand wrote the journaling. That makes it extra special!
