DS Color Challenge

I am back from my vacation and vacation-from-vacation 🙂 Now on to some serious papercrafting!

Its challenge day at the Drunken Stampers! And we are having a color challenge this time! The bright summery colors were totally in the spirit of the season right now. I enjoyed crafting with them a lot!

Here is my card:

Supplies:
Cardstock: TE green for base, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White for hexagon border, patterned papers from stash for hexagons
Stamp: Sentiment from PTI Happy Trails
Accessories: Recollections pearls
Tools: Silhouette Cameo

This card is inspired by Nichole’s beautiful cards from Happy Hexagons. I loved the idea so much that I designed this template with hexagons in Silhouette Studio and cut the hexagons out on patterned papers. The white frame is on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock. I used one of Nichole’s grids to piece this card together.

It was so much fun to make this that I cut out an extra frame and some more hexagons. Then got my husband to sit with me to complete another card. He found it easy to piece together too 🙂 Here is his card (that I embellished and added the sentiment banner!):

Supplies:
Cardstock: TE green for base, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White for hexagon border, patterned papers from stash for hexagons
Ink: Souffle white pen for writing sentiment
Accessories: TE black pearls
Tools: Silhouette Cameo

So if you want to get inspired by some summery colors, here is our color challenge!
Do join us if you can! Also, don’t forget to visit my fellow DT members for some added inspiration. They all have some super duper work to show.

Hi, Chaitali! Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving the comment about the hexagons. I’ll look forward to that tutorial or cut file on this. I’d also like to do a teeny hexagon border type thing similar to this:http://expressionavenue.blogspot.com/2012/08/cheap-and-easy.htmlbut with tiny hexagons as opposed to circles. I was able to pretty easily create this cut file in Silhouette and it cut really well as you can see. I just thought some teensy hexagons would be cute, too. I see metal dies out there but I know I can do a cut file with my Silhouette and save myself some money! LOL!I’m your newest follower so I will check back in often and will be looking for the tutorial. 🙂 Thanks!Susan
