Bling it on with Platypus Creek

There is a new challenge this week at Platypus Creek. My favorite kind ~~ making a project with glitter and bling!

I made a photo frame for this challenge. Tracey let me play with some of her awesome cutting files from Platypus Creek digitals. Here is how my frame turned out:

Supplies:
Frame: Kraft photo frame from my local craft store
Inks: Copics
Accessories: Layered flower and Leaf SVGs from Platypus Creek Digitals, Crystal candy dots from TE, Black pearls
Tools: Silhouette Cameo

I used the Layered Flower and Leaf cutting files from Platypus Creek for this. I cut them on my Cameo then colored them with Copics. The frame I got from my local craft store. Those little green balls you see in the top right and bottom left corner are Crystal Candy dots from Taylored Expressions.

Here is how I cut the layered flower in Silhouette Studio Designer Edition:

  • Open the file in SSDE
  • Right click on the image and select “Make compound path”
  • Right click again and select “Release compound path”
  • Now you can separate the flower layers and cut them out
  • Put them together one on top of the other to get the final layered flower

Hope you enjoyed the project! Do drop by and see what my fellow DT members have created. And if you can, do participate in the challenge!

Before I conclude this post, here is a final photo of the frame with a photo from my recent Hawaii trip with my husband. Bonus inspiration is always good, isn’t it?
