Layers and Diecuts

There is a new Make It Monday challenge on Nichole’s blog! I really wanted to play in this one because I missed so many before.

I also had Day 2 of my A Cut Above class yesterday and learnt some great techniques that I wanted to try.

Combining both wasn’t very hard since they are so similar but I managed to make it hard with my limited die collection 😦 I stopped buying dies after I got my Cameo so didn’t have many to choose from. Can you believe I only have 2 Spellbinder dies? And only 4 die sets total?!!

Here is my single layer card first:

Supplies:

Cardstock: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White for base
Tools: Spellbinders petite scalloped ovals and petite ovals, sponges
Inks: Distress inks, Inkadinkado inks for stamping, Memento tuxedo black for sentiment
Stamp: PTI Birthday inside out, PTI Rosie Posie

I did my sponging by putting down Nestabilities on the card base and using my spongers. I like the interesting effect that the sponges create when you use only their tip to sponge little circles. The rose and leaves are from PTI’s Rosie Posie. I’m not very happy with how they turned out on the card. Doesn’t look as good without layering, does it?

Now here is my layered card! I used the window diecuts technique we learnt in class yesterday.

Supplies:

Cardstock: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White for base, TE red and orange cardstock for layering
Tools: Cuttlebug, Spellbinders petite scalloped ovals and petite ovals, sponges
Inks: Distress inks, Inkadinkado inks for stamping, glitter gel pens, Inkadinkado inks for stamping
Stamp: PTI Birthday inside out, PTI Rosie Posie

The layered one is my fav of the two 🙂 Which one do you like?

This also goes for Use It Tuesday’s Anything Goes challenge — I used my hoarded dies 🙂
