Getting an idea stuck in your head is like getting a song stuck in your head. You just have to make it (or sing it) to get rid of it!
One such idea that got stuck in my head was this shaker card demoed by Gina K. I wanted to do it sooo much this weekend that I dragged my husband to our local craft store on Friday evening to hunt for acetate sheets 🙂
Finally found them and made this card today. I love how well it came together!
Tools: Silhouette Cameo
I cut the shaker frame on GP110 cardstock with my Cameo and also cut an oval from my acetate sheet, slightly larger than the oval in the cardstock frame. Stuck the acetate oval to the cardstock with sticky tape then stuck the cardstock frame to the orange panel with dimensionals.
One of my challenges here was keeping the shaker stuff from falling out through gaps in the dimensionals. Since I have only instant coffee, it was too powdery to contain in the shaker card and could escape from the gaps 🙂 So I used tea instead. It also gives a lovely fragrance to the card!
The little coffee cup is a SVG from Lettering Delights. The back panel is Bazzil Basics brown cardstock (I got this in an SCS swap!) and PTI autumn abundance patterned paper.
I want to mention an interesting idea my friend Prema gave me yesterday — dedicate each card to a person in your life. Coffee makes me think of Erika so this card goes to her!
This also goes for the following challenges:
- Chocolate Coffee and Cards Drink Up challenge
- PCJ anything goes challenge
- Simon Says anything goes challenge
- 365 Cards Day 2 Imagine This challenge (Sunrise –> New day –> Coffee –> need I say more? Also hence the orange background!)
I like it that you already started. I am going to start dedications too. 🙂
