Swirls and Birds

One of my husband’s colleagues wanted a card for a wedding. The couple had a birds theme in their invitation so I kept the same theme in my card as well.

Here is what I made:

Supplies:
Cardstock: GP110 base cardstock, PTI rustic cream for panel
Accessories: A2 swirls embossing folder, ribbon from Paperzone, flower from Recollections, black pearls from Michaels
Inks: PTI true black, green ink, Tombow markers
Stamps: PTI Congrats all the way, SU birds stamp

I embossed the panel using an A2 swirls folder and my cuttlebug. Then sponged all over with some green ink. Then stamped and embellished the panel before adhering it to the base with dimensionals.

The birds are actually an outline stamp from SU with a lot more detail but I colored them black with markers. This was my first time passing the ribbon in notches at the bottom. That was HARD! Anyone know of an easy technique to do this?

This card goes for 365Cards Day 1 New Beginnings. What can I say… I just love the “old-fashioned” new beginnings ๐Ÿ˜‰

Also, while we are on the topic of 365Cards, I’m going to try my best to do all their 365 challenges this year! My friends Prema and Pooja are doing the same too. Do drop by their blogs and see their awesome creations! We need some encouragement for this big task ๐Ÿ™‚
