Fun Folds and MIM

I really should stop looking at too many challenges at the same time ๐Ÿ˜‰

Pile it on has a great fun folds challenge going on right now. And there is Make It Monday on Nichole’s blog! So ofcourse I HAD to go combine those two to get a fun fold MIM card!

To add to the confusion, I did a hard-disk reorg this week and found a bunch of my old artistic creations. Some of them were some ambigrams I made for friends and family. that got me even more inspired to try out a card that would look pretty even when turned upside down :O

Here is what I ended up with:

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI Kraft, Recollections cream cardstock from Michaels for frame, Studio Calico Memoir patterned paper
Accessories: Basic Grey stitched brad, Martha Stewart doiley, black pearls, ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon Feb kit
Inks: PTI true black
Stamps: PTI All Booked Up frame
Technique: Gate fold

Have you noticed it yet? Yep! the photo is with the card upside down ๐Ÿ˜€ It looks good when turned the other way round as well! Take your pick ๐Ÿ™‚

The central frame is from my PTI All booked Up set. I used Dawn’s MIM technique to make it larger than it was then concealed the overlap with a Martha Stewart doiley and a Basic Grey stitched brad.

This is a gate fold card with a small twist. I adhered the central frame to the card with removable adhesive. So if the recipient really wanted, they could adhere the frame to the left or the right side of the card as needed. That makes it a true ambigram-ish card don’t you think?

This card goes for:

And last but not least… here is an ambigram of my husband’s name that I made a long time ago. It looks the same when turned upside down.

Hope you enjoyed the post and thanks for dropping by!
