Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge

EDIT: Taylor selected me to be Top Chef on TESC #153 with this card! I get to play along with the sketch crew as the featured Top Chef on Taylor’s blog in TESC #155. Watch out for my feature on March 23!

Taylored Expressions has a new fan — ME! I enjoyed my shopping experience with them, I loved their Key Ingredients kit and now I love their sketch challenge!

Taylor had a new sketch challenge on Sunday on her blog and I loved the challenge in the sketch! I didn’t have to think too hard on the basic concept of the card because the squares made me think of inchies and I absolutely wanted to use the largest stamp in my newest TE set — Discover your wings.

Here is what I made:

Supplies:
Cardstock: PTI Kraft, PTI rustic cream
Inks: PTI true black, Peeled Paint distress ink, Stormy Sky distress ink, White souffle pen for sentiment
Stamps: Taylored Expressions Discover Your Wings
Accessories: Inchies, TE KI kit ribbon

This is the sketch I followed

I stamped the image in PTI true black ink first on a piece of PTI rustic cream cardstock. Then stuck on the 7 inchies in the required pattern and stamped the image again on top of the first one. I don’t have a stamp liner so used one of the CD cases in which I store my clear stamps. Taped it down with some removable glue dots to my table before the first stamping to keep things aligned.

Sponged the top half with stormy sky distress ink and the bottom half with peeled paint distress ink. Adhered the panel to the kraft cardstock with some dimensionals. Wrote the sentiment myself with a white souffle pen. Finished things off with a ribbon from my Key Ingredients kit.

This is also my first ever sympathy card. If you think you would like to receive it or know someone who needs it, please leave a comment here and I will be happy to mail it to/for you.

This goes for the following challenges:
