Boxed in

If you are a regular here on my blog, you probably know I enjoy making fancy fold cards. This explosion box card caught my eye when browsing through SCS tutorials. I like Beate’s crafting style so made this project in a similar style to hers.

My other inspiration was The Taylored Expressions “Take Note” challenge. I had this box card idea yesterday night but was thinking about what to put inside the box. The TE Bloghop and challenge for the February Key Ingredients kit was perfect! I put some post-its inside the box, cut down to side and stamped with a cute TE butterfly stamp.

Here is my box card in its unopened form:

Supplies:
Cardstock: Pink Indian handmade paper (inside stamped square), Papertrey Ink rustic cream (inside square border), Taylored Expressions Arizona cardstock (for box body), Red cardstock from Michaels (for box lid), Light pink handmade paper (outside square), Echo Park Pink Flourish patterned paper (outside square and strip on lid), SEI Promise Me (strip on lid)
Inks: Papertrey Ink true black
Stamps: Papertrey Ink Larger than life, Taylored Expressions Discover your wings, Papertrey Ink Happy Trails
Accessories: Lace ribbon, Prima rose, Prima pearls, Prima flowers, Recollections flowers, Post-its cut to size
Tools: Silhouette Cameo

One photo doesn’t capture this fully so here are additional photos.

Here is also something interesting about the card lid. I wanted to participate in the Sunday Sketch challenge at 365 Cards as well so made the lid of this card using the challenge sketch. Here is a close-up of the lid:

I cut the box and its lid on my Silhouette Cameo using measurements from Beate’s tutorial on SCS. I will post the SVG files here as soon as I upload them. Please remember to credit me when you use them!
